Burglars beware! This new security guard does not eat, sleep or take bathroom breaks, and it can even sense your presence.
Meet T-34, a four-wheel rather awkward-looking, but ever alert security guard that was recently unveiled in Tokyo, Japan. Loaded with sensors, the robot can detect not only the smallest movements and faint sounds, but also human body heat.
Moving at a steady speed of 6mph, the robot can be controlled remotely from a security office or even via a cell-phone. A video link transmits real-time images enabling the controller to monitor T-34's movements.
The fun begins when the robocop detects an intruder - Without any warning, it sprays a spider web completely entangling the unsupecting culprit until the arrival of human reinforcement.
The T-34 is scheduled to be available in a couple of years and cost about $12,000 USD. Though the initial models will be for commercial use only, the company believes that it will soon have robocops available for residential homes too. Pretty Cool!
