To some people, 29-year old Eskil Ronningsbakken's balancing performances may seem like stunts or circus acts, but to Eskil, they are a form of Art. However the one thing everybody does agree on, is that they are amazing.

Eskil, who lives in Nairobi, Kenya, started working on his 'artistic' skills when he was just five years old, practicing in the rugged Norwegian terrain where he was born. At eighteen, he left home to join the Moscow Circus in order to hone his skills under some of the World's best trainers.

After spending a few years there, Eskil set about practicing his newly learned skills with amazing performances.

Though the initial acts involved 'easy stuff' like tightrope walking over a 3,000 ft. valley, lately Eskil has been performing balancing acts that can only be described as mind-boggling and jaw dropping.

In 2007, he performed an upside down handstand on a trapeze bar, which had been placed under a hot air balloon whilst it was cruising in the skies.

Later that year, he wowed the world again by hanging off a single 60cm by 30cm ice cube, which was supported by ropes on either side - all while being suspended off a wire, 3,280 ft above the ground in a Norwegian National Park.

However, it is Eskil's latest work of 'art', (left pic) his most favorite to date, that has stunned people all over the world.

For this performance, Eskil placed a bike on a tightrope that was tied across an icy Norwegian Fjord at a height of 1,000 meters. Then, using just one weight for stability the maestro balanced himself upside down and rode the bike across the rope.

Eskil's next mission? To balance atop the World's tallest tower - The Burj Dubai, scheduled to open in September 2009.

We just get the feeling it's going to be yet another jaw dropping piece of art from Eskil Ronningsbakken! To view all his balancing acts, check out his website at http://www.globalbalancing.com.
