If you are a fan of the famous honey-loving bear (who isn't?), then you probably remember that his last book "Pooh At The Corner", ended quite abruptly with Christopher Robin heading to boarding school, leaving his friends to pursue their own adventures.
That was in 1928. Since then, we haven't heard a pipsqueak from the Pooh Bear and his gang. However, that is about to change. A new book entitled 'Return to the Hundred Acre Wood', contains ten new adventures and takes off exactly where the last one ended. In case you are wondering, Winnie the Pooh and his pals haven't aged a bit.
The book is written by David Benedictus who first became interested in Winnie the Pooh, when he was asked to translate the previous adventures into audio Cd's. He enjoyed himself so much, that he decided to ask for permission to write some new ones.
In order to make them 'authentic', he tried to get as familiar as he could with the author, A.A. Milne's life. He visited Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, the inspiration for Pooh's 100-Acre woods and read all of the author's works, even those unrelated to Winnie the Pooh.
However, if you are wondering if he can live up to A.A. Milne's skillful writing, you are not alone. As the recently released book excerpt shows, even Pooh and his friends are a little doubtful.
Whether their concerns are valid will be revealed on October 5th, when the new book comes to bookstores all over the world. Be sure to read it and let us know what you think of Pooh's new adventures.
