If you happen to be driving along the roads of Fribourg, Switzerland, you may be in for a heavenly surprise - A beautiful guardian angel either smiling at you from the side, or flapping his wings furiously, if you are driving over the speed limit.

However, this angel has not descended from the heavens, but is a professional actor who has been employed by the police department to encourage safe driving. The actor turned angel patrols the roads 20 hours a week, descending in different parts of the 670sq. mile mountainous region, each day.

Drivers who are fortunate enough to see him, are encouraged to e-mail the police so that their name can be entered into a lottery for a . . . . . free driving lesson!

The police got the idea of placing a real-life angel on the roads, after a few months of television advertising that follows a similar theme. While they don't know how effective the advertisement or the guardian angel has been, they expect to continue this campaign until at least October or even eternally - After all angels are immortal!

I feel like this will be really cool to see! But i really don't see how he helps keep the roads safe, or encourages people to drive safer, by driving under the seed limit.

I wonder if this really helps people with safe driving.I also wonder if people who see the "angle" really try to win the lottery. Also why would they not put these "angles" around the world if it helps with safe driving.

I believe this "angel" is a great thing to have around, however, I wonder why they do not have these "angels" all over the world. I think if they do, there will be less accidents on the roads.

Why would they have a lottery for a free driving lesson, its not really a insentive to drive safe?
