Ida Keeling - Shattering Records At 95!

Last week, Bronxnative, Ida Keeling, set a new world record by sprinting 60 meters in 29.86 seconds - the fastest time ever, for a 95-year old. And this is not the first time this deceptively young looking athlete has entered the record books. Three years ago, she became the fastest sprinter, over the age of 90!

Ms. Keeling was a late bloomer who did not begin running until she was 67. But once she got the hang of it, there has been no stopping her. The enthusiastic athlete says the secret to her success, is a positive attitude and regular training. She keeps in shape by lifting weights, cycling on a stationary bicycle and of course, running. However, this no-nonsense woman does not need a fancy running track - She just trains by running up and down the corridor outside her apartment.

Good nutrition also plays an important role in her fitness regime. Since she likes to get her fuel in early, she often eats her dinner, be it a hamburger, liver or fish - for breakfast!

And, the 95-year old has no intention of slowing down. She plans to sprint and shatter records as long as she can, and hopes to outlive her grandmother, who died at the ripe old age of 104. We have a sneaky feeling she will easily surpass that and more!
