Canada's WestJet Airlines is well-known for its annual "Christmas Miracle." Now in its 12th year, the heartwarming tradition spreads holiday cheer to unsuspecting individuals. Past "miracles" include delivering care packages to those in need and helping families reunite for the holidays. In 2024, the company focused its efforts on parents.
Earlier this December, families traveling on a WestJet flight from Toronto to Calgary were invited to visit Santa's Station before boarding their flight. There, WestJet's famous Blue Santa asked children what they thought their parents and other grown-ups would like for Christmas.

The kids enthusiastically shared their ideas for the aptly named "Parents' Wishlist Miracle." Suggestions ranged from simple items like an avocado to smartphones, gift cards, and even a trip to Italy. The passengers then settled in for their 4.5-hour flight to Calgary.
While they were relaxing on the airplane, WestJet staff in Calgary rushed to stores to gather and wrap all the gifts in time. Upon arrival, the unsuspecting passengers headed to the airport's baggage claim area. Here, they were stunned to see every requested item, including the avocado, waiting for them. The heartwarming video released by the company on December 9, 2024, captures the joy and surprise of some of the 130 gift recipients.
Happy Holidays!
