Looking for a fun party idea? How about 'Dinner in the Sky ', with 22 of your best friends. As the name indicates, it involves eating a meal suspended by a crane, as high as 164ft above the ground.

While it sounds uncomfortable, diners are strapped onto very comfortable leather seats, that even swivel 180 degrees, incase they want to catch the view. The chairs are tethered to a large dining table that sits on a platform. The whole 'dining table' is hoisted up by the crane.

In the center of the dining table is a wide area that accommodates up to five people. This is where the chef and his helpers, all harnessed to the table, serve up a gourmet meal to the lucky guests.

"Dinner in the Sky', first introduced in Belgium in 2006, has become popular all over the world, especially with large corporations, wanting to treat their clients or employees to something really special. In some areas of the world, such as Cape Town in South Africa, 'Dinner in the Sky' is now a regular restaurant, where individual guests can make reservations for a gourmet three-course meal. Also, the concept is not confined to dinner - companies can serve breakfast, lunch or rent the place for special presentations.

The best part is that the 'dining table' can be transported to almost anywhere in the world. This means the party can be planned is exotic locations like the Grand Canyon in the USA, the Eiffel Tower in Paris or even the Pyramids in Egypt - the possibilities are endless.

However, before you start drafting your invites, a small detail you may want to know - the cost of renting one of these for the stipulated minimum 8-hour period starts at $10,000 USD, and that does not include the chef or the food. And one other thing - be sure to take that potty break before you strap on - for there are no bathrooms in this restaurant! Happy Dining in the Sky!
