What do you see when you look around? A blue sky, maybe some birds and even an odd airplane or helicopter? German photographer Lisa Reinmen, saw all that and something else - the letter q, formed by the curve of a lovely courtyard and a narrow street that led to it.
This one alphabet got her so excited that she began scouring the city for the rest - It took six months of meandering down the streets of Barcelona and a lot of neck craning, but the result as you can see, was quite stunning.
The 30-year old photographer from Essen, Germany has compiled her alphabet pictures into a book entitled 'Type The Sky', which she published about two years ago. Since then, she has been scouring other cities in Europe to try repeat her alphabet magic, but has so far, found very little success - In Berlin, the streets and houses were too far apart.
New York was a non-starter because the buildings are set up like a checker board. The only place she has had partial success was in Florence, where she was able find the letters to the word Grazie, to thank the locals for attending her exhibition. The lack of success doesn't deter Lisa, who keeps searching the skies and everything around her, wherever she heads in search of more alphabets.
