Will This Plastic-Eating Bacteria Save Or Harm Our Environment?

This article is very sad especially because all that plastic is basically killing animals and we might not know it but everyday when one person throws plastic out too the ocean or on the floor it could kill a poor animal that doesnt know better & now the scientist need to look if the bactiria and all that is good or bad and if theres something the scientist could do to help this issue
