It usually is burnt up before it can reach the surface, and the millions of grains of ashes are swept away by the harsh winds, meaning if an ash ever falls on your head (which is VERY unlikely. You'll probably get struck by lightning before a burnt up piece of space junk hits your head, which won't do nothing), that might be the rest of the SpaceX shuttle, but that's unlikely.
